Private Classes

In a private cooking class, you work side-by-side with Julie learning the essential theory and techniques of fine cooking. These intimate classes allow you to make the most out of your vacation time in Napa. It is the best way to take your skills to the next level. The menus are seasonal and feature food from local farms. Contact Julie to reserve a private hands-on cooking class.

Private day or evening classes can be booked for small groups for a hands-on class. These are a great way to celebrate life, special birthdays, anniversaries, or milestones.

The class is held at your location. I bring everything you will need for your class.

  • What To Expect: Great cooking isn't about recipes—it's about techniques. In class you'll work together with other students in groups of 2 or 3 It's a fun, hands-on environment.

    Cooking with Julie's recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy, please let us know before attending the class. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made during class.

  • You will be standing, cooking, and working for most of the class.
    Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back.

    Hands-on classes run approximately 4 hours, with about 3 hours of cooking and concluding with a meal that was prepared during the class paired with California wines.
    Demonstration classes are 3 hours in length.

    The fee for a 4-hour Private Hands-on Cooking Class:

    Times: 10:00 am- 2:00 pm or 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
    For 4 or fewer students $ 950
    For 5 to 8 students $ 225 per person

    The fee for a private Market Tour and Hands-on Cooking Class:
    Monday-Saturday
    Time: 8:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
    For 4 or fewer students $ 1,000
    For 5 to 8 students $ 250 per person

    Includes private tuition, hands-on cooking class, light antipasti with wine to enjoy during class, a three-course meal paired with wine, along with recipe booklet, and a "COOKING with JULIE" logo apron.

    For off-site classes a fee of $350 for transportation expenses, set-up, and breakdown.

    Substitutions may be necessary depending on availability.
